Upon discovering Coretta Scott King and Barbara Silver shared the same birthday, for many years the Kings and Silvers held a joint birthday party to honor both ladies, at which Daddy King presided over the festivities and blessed the honorees. This photo was taken in 1977 by Count Jackson, as Murray Silver extends his left arm around Daddy King in a warm embrace.

The sub-title of the book pays homage to the importance of this great man, the patriarch of the clan, who sadly, has been largely forgotten by historians and by the media.
